Stuff the Bus

Children can’t perform at their highest levels without the proper school supplies. United Way of Bedford County helps give a boost to students in need of basic supplies each year with the “Stuff the Bus” campaign.

This year the event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 20 at the Walmart parking lot in Shelbyville. A Bedford County school bus will be present to provide a collection point for supplies.

Shelbyville’s Walmart will once again be providing special packaging for those wanting to purchase supplies in a quick, easy and inexpensive manner. Collection boxes are available at several locations in Bedford County. Those interested in helping with the effort can drop off their donations at Tennova Healthcare, First Community Bank locations, Pinnacle, Traders Bank, Heritage South Credit Union, First Bank and the Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department.

Donations have been pledged by Musgrave Pencil, Shelbyville Pen and Pencil and Newell. Boxes were dropped off at the various locations July 6th and will be picked up July 30th. Financial contributions are also accepted and encouraged.
